CARINA LEAGUES CLUB

Supporting our locals since 1970

OUR HISTORY

Carina Leagues Club commenced from humble beginnings in October 1970 in the lower ground floor section of Chadwick Hall. The Club was trading under a Sporting License which permitted the sale of alcohol only while sport was being played. The Club was granted a Liquor License on 22 October 1971 and was the first club in Queensland to be granted trading hours from 10am to 11pm. Since this time, strong patronage and support has seen Carina Leagues Club continue to grow and flourish.

Over the last 20 years, Carina Leagues has trebled in size, with a revised Liquor License permitting the club to trade until 4am. This has seen the development of modern facilities for our members and guests, including:

– The Gaming Lounge with 254 gaming machines as well as designated outdoor smoking facilities with mist fans and heaters for the comfort of members and guests.
– Arties Bar, servicing the Gaming Lounge and Restaurant
– Our modern Sidelines Sports Bar with TAB facilities, a massive HD LED screen broadcasting crystal clear live and loud sport while overlooking the Clubs main field for prime viewing of local Rugby League live action.
– Our award-winning Hive Café offers breakfast, light meals, sandwiches, hot and cold beverages, sweets and more.
– The Paddock Restaurant caters to all taste buds
– serving up everything from traditional roast dinners, classic parmy’s and delicious steaks through to sophisticated meals curated by our team of passionate Chefs.
– Our most recent addition is for our littlest members, a 400 square metre Kids Playland! Lucky’s Playland caters for children aged 3-12 and offers a wide variety of activities including a rock climbing wall, arts and crafts area, games room and plenty more! Carina Leagues Club also boasts a large, landscaped carpark with full lighting and a large number of shaded parks.

OUR MISSION

As the Club continues to grow we hope to add more and more great facilities for you, our Members. Carina Leagues Club is a community Club and a few of the many objectives in our charter for which the Club was established are:
– provide for Members and Members’ Guests a Club with the usual facilities;
– provide foster support and encourage the aims and objectives of Carina Junior Rugby League Football Club and all matters pertaining thereto; and
– to assist by financial, or by other means, any or all organizations which are devoted to fostering youth welfare facilities for youngsters and underprivileged and handicapped children, relieving poverty and hardship and preventing juvenile delinquency.

SUPPORTING OUR LOCALS SINCE 1970

Carina Leagues Club contributes monthly to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund. The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is Queensland’s largest one-off grants program, distributing about $53 million per year. Established in 1994 under the Gaming Machine Act 1991, the fund returns to the community a portion of state revenue raised through gambling taxes.

In addition to this Carina Leagues Club donated $4,286,372 cash and in-kind for the financial year ended 30th June 2018.

This contribution has assisted in the rebuild of the Junior Football Clubhouse ($1.5 million), supported the CHCWA with $2 million to build a gymnasium, various schools, sporting organizations, community funds and individuals via a variety of means from the donation of money, goods or equipment through to free use of our facilities. With your support, we can continue to deliver on the promise to our members and our community.

OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE

The Directors, Management and builders are continuously busy at work developing ambitious concepts for the future direction of the Club. There is plenty of new and exciting renovations and changes happening to Carina Leagues Club starting from now. Our car park, gaming room and Bistro has undergone significant change over the past 12 months and it is continuing to develop and improve.

The club has come a long way since its origin and the road has been a continuous and rewarding journey. All would not have been possible without our fantastic support system from both the local community, management and employees at Carina Leagues Club.

There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel and it is only getting closer within our reach as the months and years go by. We are always continuing to improve our club and ensure that our journey is ongoing and fruitful for the benefit of ourselves and the local community.
